8 SLNA players are the core of U15 Vietnam going to Thailand to attend the Southeast Asian U15 Championship
(Baonghean.vn) - Among the official list of 23 players participating in the 2019 Southeast Asian U15 Championship, 8 young SLNA players were retained: goalkeeper Dang Xuan Son, Tran Dinh Thanh, Nguyen Van Bay, Dang Ba Ha, Dam Duc Vinh, Ngo Van Bac, Cai Van Quy, Nguyen Quang Vinh.
On the morning of July 25, the Vietnam U15 team will leave for Thailand to participate in the 2019 Southeast Asian U15 Championship. Before departure, coach Dinh The Nam will finalize the official list of 23 players.
The 8 young players of SLNA are goalkeeper Dang Xuan Son, Tran Dinh Thanh, Nguyen Van Bay, Nguyen Van Son, Dang Ba Ha, Dam Duc Vinh, Ngo Van Bac, Cai Van Quy, Nguyen Quang Vinh, all of whom have grown up from the Nghe An Newspaper Cup. After successfully competing in the Newspaper Cup, they were selected by SLNA Club to join the youth training center.
At the 2019 Southeast Asian U15 Championship, the Vietnam U15 team is in Group A with Indonesia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Singapore and the Philippines. Coach Dinh The Nam said that the toughest opponent for him and his players in the group stage is Indonesia. This is also a challenge for him and his players in the opening match of the tournament.

Coach Dinh The Nam shared: “Any coach who leads a team to a tournament wants to win the championship. Me too. Of course, in football it is difficult to predict anything and the results of the match depend on many factors, including luck. But one thing is certain: the U15 Vietnam team will have to try their best.”
Meanwhile, if they pass the group stage, the U15 Vietnam team will also face formidable opponents such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia. "We know that U15 Malaysia defeated both U15 Iran and U15 DPRK at a recent youth tournament in China. I, as well as technical director Jurgen Gede, highly appreciate this team," said coach Dinh The Nam.
During the 12-day training session in Japan, the Vietnam U15 team played 3 matches against teams of higher level and older age. According to the schedule, the Vietnam U15 team will have their opening match against Indonesia on July 27.
Two years ago, also at the 2017 Southeast Asian U15 Championship in Thailand, the Vietnam U15 team defeated host Thailand in the final match to win the championship.
