This morning, April 28, the first 8 tons of aid goods from Vietnam will land at Narita Airport (Tokyo - Japan). These are items selected based on Japan's proposal with guaranteed quality.

Here, these goods will be handed over to the representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to deliver in the fastest way to people in the area affected by the earthquake and tsunami that occurred on March 11.

After summarizing the specific situation of natural disaster relief in the country, the Japanese side proposed that Vietnam support a number of garments and household products to provide practical support to people currently residing in emergency relief areas. The total value of the donated goods this time is 150,000 USD, weighing 8 tons.

With high requirements on delivery progress, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been allowed to designate the implementing unit, while still implementing a strict monitoring mechanism to ensure that the goods meet export quality, reasonable costs, and transparency. All costs of collection, transportation, export, and delivery of goods have been appraised by the Ministry of Finance before implementation.

With the goal of delivering goods to the Japanese people as quickly as possible, since receiving the official request from Japan, within nearly 2 weeks, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has presided over and coordinated with relevant units to fully collect goods, complete related procedures and is expected to hand over the above goods in Japan on April 28.
