In 9 months, nearly 66,000 policy beneficiaries in Nghe An received loans.

(Baonghean.vn) – In 9 months, Nghe An had 65,987 poor households, near-poor households and policy beneficiaries receiving loans to develop production and serve essential life needs.

On the afternoon of October 17, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Board of Directors of the Social Policy Bank, Nghe An branch chaired the 53rd regular meeting of the branch.

The report of the provincial Social Policy Bank shows that the total policy capital as of September 30 reached VND7,124 billion, an increase of VND387 billion compared to the beginning of the year, a growth rate of 5.72%. The loan turnover in the third quarter reached VND592 billion, the accumulated 9 months reached VND1,963 billion, equal to 115% compared to the same period last year.

Some credit programs with large loan turnover are: loans to near-poor households 154 billion VND, newly escaped poverty households 132 billion VND, poor households 119 billion VND, production and business households in difficult areas 67 billion VND... Total outstanding loans reached 7,111 billion VND, an increase of 94 billion VND compared to the beginning of the quarter, an increase of 382 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year.

In the first 9 months of the year, the whole province had 65,987 poor households, near-poor households and policy beneficiaries receiving loans to develop production and serve essential life needs.

Along with credit growth, the branch pays special attention to improving credit quality. Bad debt continues to be tightly controlled, accounting for 0.44% of total outstanding debt.

Organizations and unions that receive the trust must do a good job of evaluating loans in a timely, public, democratic, and appropriate manner; and promptly guide loan procedures to speed up the disbursement of credit programs.

At the meeting, members of the Board of Directors spoke about the difficulties in entrusted credit activities. Currently, the loan program for ethnic minorities and poor households living in extremely difficult areas according to Decree 75 has only disbursed loans for livestock farming, not for production forest planting loans. The reason is that there is no support capital from the local budget, so it is impossible to determine the loan level...

In addition, the implementation of the allocation of local budget capital according to Directive 29 of the Provincial Party Committee has not been completed as planned. Up to this point, there are still 4 districts that have not allocated budget to increase capital according to regulations.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai emphasized: Currently, poor households in Nghe An account for 9% according to the new criteria, mobilizing capital to meet the demand for loans to develop production and serve the essential needs of life is extremely important.

Therefore, it is recommended that the Executive Board of the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies actively direct and effectively implement the work of mobilizing capital sources in the area, submit to the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies additional capital sources for the lending program according to Decree 75 (15 billion VND) and loans to support poor households with housing (30 billion VND).

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested members of the steering committee to focus on disbursing credit programs; organizing debt and interest collection; reviewing and preparing documents to promptly handle risks, especially damage caused by storms and floods in the last months of 2017...

On this occasion, the Board of Representatives also announced and awarded emulation and commendation titles to members of the Steering Committee on the occasion of summarizing 15 years of implementing social policy credit in the period 2002 - 2017.
