Runner-up Thuy Van surprises with her sweet voice in the Quan Ho MV

The 2008 runner-up of Miss Vietnam chose the Quan Ho folk song because she has loved Quan Ho melodies for a long time. Whenever she is sad or happy, just by listening to the melody of "Ngôi tự song đào" the beauty feels her heart opened, comforted and loved.

"If you listen carefully to the lyrics, the audience will love the Vietnamese language more. The song does not have the words 'sad', 'love', 'lonely', 'waiting'... but it expresses the sobs of women in the past. They lived by faith and loyalty, always holding a love in their hearts, unable to speak directly because old etiquette did not allow it. Just listening to the melody, you can feel the loneliness and pity in them" - Runner-up Thuy Van shared.

To make the song more suitable for today's audience, Thuy Van and MC Hanh Phuc discussed with the musician to use a more youthful arrangement. In addition to traditional instruments, the song also uses electric guitars and electronic music.

This idea of ​​Thuy Van was initially opposed by Hanh Phuc and the musician. They did not believe that Thuy Van could perform this song, which was picky about both the singer and the listener. However, thanks to her perseverance, Thuy Van was able to convince the crew.

The MV tells the love story of a poor boy who loves a young lady. Because of the war to protect the country, the boy had to go to war. The girl waited forever but did not see the boy return.

In the sadness and despair of waiting, the image of the young man was the girl's only fragile light of hope for a reunion. When filming the MV, putting herself in the girl's hopeless waiting situation and deeply sympathizing, Thuy Van choked up and shed tears.

Meanwhile, MC Hanh Phuc could not forget the time he had to sit on a cliff in the forest and was constantly bitten by mosquitoes. "I was singing a scene about missing someone, but in reality, mosquitoes were biting my arms and legs. Any exposed part would be bitten by mosquitoes. Besides, acting out a love scene with a close friend was extremely difficult. Every time we acted out a scene of joking around or confessing our love, the director often forced us to reshoot it because it was not good enough," he said.

However, when completed, the intimate love scenes between the two moved the production crew. MC Hanh Phuc joked that he was not afraid of his lover being jealous, but was more afraid of Thuy Van's husband. Because the beauty rarely cried because of her husband, but in the MV she shed too many tears for her co-star.

Last April, Thuy Van had to stop all work to treat a pulmonary infarction. Doctors diagnosed that the runner-up had this disease due to high work intensity. After a period of treatment, Thuy Van's health has recovered. Currently, to prevent the disease from recurring, she tries to balance her work, spend more time resting and taking care of herself.
