Coach Allegri and his team won the Serie A championship two rounds early

AC Milan last won Serie A in 2004 under Carlo Ancelotti. The red and black club won eight Scudetto titles under President Silvio Berlusconi. The Italian prime minister recently celebrated 25 years as owner of the San Siro club, having won five European titles with AC Milan.

Speaking to Mediaset after AC Milan won the Serie A championship this morning, President Silvio Berlusconi was very happy: "The Scudetto finally belongs to AC Milan, I think we deserved to win this title. The success of the club proves that our choice for coach Massimiliano Allegri was absolutely right."

The Italian media mogul also confirmed that there will be continued investment in the summer transfer window: "We have made important signings and a competitive squad and these signings are not cheap but in football no club can win without spending a lot of money. Will I continue to spend more money in the summer? Yes, hopefully the transfer market will allow me to do that."
