Egypt executes 188 Morsi supporters
Of the 188 defendants, only 140 were present at the trial, the rest were convicted in absentia.
Yesterday (December 2), a court in Cairo (Egypt) sentenced to death 188 supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood organization for attacking police after the coup that overthrew former President Mohamed Morsi last summer.
According to the indictment, the defendants were accused of attacking a police station in a village of Kerdasa in Giza province, killing 11 police officers and two civilians, and attempting to kill 10 other police officers.

This is not the first time Egypt has sentenced supporters of former President Morsi to death en masse.
In March, a criminal court in the southern Egyptian province of Minya sentenced more than 500 people to death for attacking and killing police officers. In April, more than 680 members of the Muslim Brotherhood were also sentenced to death for similar crimes./.
