Who "backs" the fake psychic?
(Baonghean) -Recently, VTV's program "Returning from Memory" published a lot of important information about the fraudulent behavior of some psychics, including Phan Thi Bich Hang, who has been famous for searching for martyrs' graves using spiritual methods for 20 years, shocking public opinion.
VTV cited a heartbreaking case, which is the search for the head of martyr Phung Chi Kien (born in 1901), one of the outstanding revolutionary activists of our Party during the secret period, from Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district. In 1941, comrade Phung Chi Kien was captured by the French army and beheaded in Bac Can province. In 1990, his remains were brought back to be buried at Mai Dich cemetery. However, the "psychic" who said that the head of comrade Phung Chi Kien was missing was actually just a piece of broken porcelain and a pig tooth, according to the conclusion of the appraisal agency.

The above information shocked and angered millions of people, because "psychics" not only profited from the blood and bones of heroic martyrs but also exploited the sweat and tears of many relatives of heroic martyrs and the deceased. Through press information, verification showed that some details that Phan Thi Bich Hang had given about her life before and after having "special" abilities were not true. "Psychic" Vu Thi Hoa (Yen Bai) "grew up" from a fishmonger who had lost money in business, suddenly became a grave finder who "said exactly what she said" and became the head of "Doan Tam Duc Yen Bai". Meanwhile, "psychic" Nguyen Thanh Thuy was a person who had been in prison for 12 years for fraud.
The public is wondering why a person who was once in prison for fraud was "coordinated" by the Social Policy Bank to find the remains of martyrs with a "remuneration" of 70 to 75 million VND per grave? Furthermore, when this group of "psychics" was facilitated by representatives of the authorities of some provinces and appeared to cover up even when some cases were discovered to be fraud? In the case of VTV discovering Nguyen Thanh Thuy red-handed, it shows that without the decisive intervention of the Military Command of Quang Tri province, it would not have been possible to detect the blatant forgery of "psychic" Nguyen Thanh Thuy and the leaders of the Social Policy Bank?
What made the government representatives of Binh Duong and Dak Lak provinces, and the leaders of the Social Policy Bank cover up the heartless act of the fake “psychic” Nguyen Thanh Thuy? It is probably not difficult to answer, if we know that before the “Quang Tri case” was exposed, Thuy “discovered” 105 graves in the above 3 provinces with the “remuneration” that the Social Policy Bank had paid and will pay over 7 billion VND. The unjust loss of the above amount of money is indeed a large amount, but what is it when Nguyen Thanh Thuy and those involved heartlessly deceived the relatives of martyrs, bringing animal bones for worship? That is a heartless act, dear “psychics”!
Surely everyone still remembers, a few years ago, Nghe An had 13, 14 places to find martyrs' graves using the "spirit possession" method. And this "movement" was only extinguished when many martyrs' relatives, with the guidance of the "spirit", dug up the wrong graves, or did not match reality; the person who was "spirit possession" got into mental illness... After VTV published evidence to "expose" fake psychics, there were still many conflicting public opinions on this issue. According to Professor Dao Trong Thi, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth and Children, "the phenomenon of psychic perception and psychic ability is real. Therefore, it is necessary to create conditions for those with that ability to do good deeds to repay the martyrs' kindness; to meet the emotional needs of martyrs' relatives. Those who take advantage of psychics for personal gain must be strictly handled according to the provisions of the law".
Searching for martyrs' remains is the legitimate wish of everyone in society in general, and martyrs' relatives in particular, but there are some who have taken advantage of the search for martyrs' remains for personal gain. On October 26, 2013, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the issues of psychic search for martyrs' graves as reported by the press. Hopefully the truth will soon be clarified and these subjects need to be handled appropriately according to the law.
