AIA Vietnam has also recently expanded its business by opening its third General Agency Office in Vinh City, Nghe An Province. On this occasion, Nghe An Newspaper had a conversation with Mr. Stephen Clark, General Director of AIA Vietnam.

PV: It is known that AIA VietnamMaleis aiming for the near future, which is to become the most favorite life insurance company in Vietnam.MaleDo you think this is a difficult challenge?


Mr. Stephen Clark: There are many things we need to do before we can be considered the most loved life insurance company. However, having the right people, doing the right things, in the right way and consistently will help us achieve our goals. Once we are determined to be the number one choice company for customers and agents, we will have achieved our goals. We have always set high standards for AIA Vietnam, but I have no doubt that we can achieve and even exceed those standards.


PV: It is known that AIA VietnamMaleCurrently focusing on developing a team of premier agents and full-time agents, can you tell us your plans for developing this team in the near future?


Mr. Stephen Clark: Premier Agents are our full-time sales force. This elite group of agents has built a career in the insurance business and to become Premier Agents, they have demonstrated a high level of commitment and customer focus. Therefore, the benefits of being a Premier Agent are also great.


Currently about a third of our new sales are from Premier Agents, but in the long term our goal is for the majority of our sales from the physical agency channel to be from Premier Agents. We are constantly looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join and help AIA VietnamMalebecome the leading insurance company in VietnamMale


PV: We understand AIA VietnamMaleis attracting the attention of many customers as well as insurance agents. This is what many insurance companies dream of. Can you share some secrets about this success?


Mr. Stephen Clark:AIA VietnamMalealways pursue the goal of customer satisfaction and focus on the parts of the business strategy. From the products to the way our agents contact customers as well as the way we manage the implementation of policies and payment of insurance benefits or preferential policies with the agent force... we always try our best to operate effectively and efficiently in the best way. That is why AIA always attracts the attention of the agent force and customers. We must constantly enhance and improve the level of customer satisfaction. Only when we achieve this can we say we have succeeded.

PV: 2011 was a year of global economic instability, however AIA still achieved impressive business results. Could you share with us some of the achievements of AIA Group as well as AIA Vietnam?Male?


Mr. Stephen Clark: Although 2011 was a difficult year for many businesses, AIA Group achieved a record growth rate with the value of new business (VONB) increasing by 40% compared to the same period last year. Profit after tax from business activities (OPAT) increased by 13% and New Annual Premium (ANP) increased by 22%. For AIA VietnamMalealso achieved strong growth results such as: new exploitation fees increased by 29%; total insurance premiums increased by 25%. The results of AIA VietnamMaleis a clear demonstration of our ability to grow sustainably in the face of unfavorable domestic and international market conditions. This is the result of the tireless efforts of all AIA agents and staff.


PV: This year, many experts predict that the world economy will continue to have instability, including the Vietnamese economy.Malealso encountered many difficulties. VietnamMaleis an agricultural country where many people are not interested in life insurance. So AIA VietnamMaleAre there any special directions to attract more people to participate in insurance?


Mr. Stephen Clark: The goal of every insurance company is to help people address the imbalance between their need for insurance protection and the actual level of insurance they have. AIA is at the forefront of addressing this issue not only in the Vietnamese market but also across Asia. To achieve this goal, in Vietnam, AIA continues to focus on professionalizing its agents and leadership team. We organize regular training and sales support to help them acquire the necessary skills to provide the best financial advice to many customers. We also constantly enhance and improve our products and customer care services. Through this, AIA can help the public better understand and accept the insurance products and solutions that we can provide. This will encourage more people to participate in insurance.

Mr. Stephen Clark: In Nghe An, AIA has 3 General Agency Offices, which confirms our determination to promote business in this market. Nghe An is one of the localities with the most dynamic economic development; large population and a tradition of learning. When people's awareness increases and income improves, it is also the time when people here have the need to carefully plan their finances and protect themselves appropriately.

Experienced and well-trained AIA agents must be available to help customers with this important planning process. Therefore, we are looking to recruit and train more agents to strengthen our current sales team. AIA VietnamMalewant to build a good image in this dynamic and wonderful land.
