Warmth with Vietnamese Cultural Festival in Korea
The festival introduces unique traditional cultural features of Vietnam's land and people to international friends.
The 3rd Vietnam Cultural Festival in Korea took place at Jeong Shim Hwa Theater, Daejeon City, Korea on October 27. The program was organized by the Association of Vietnamese in Korea with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, Daejeon City Government, Chungnam University and sponsorship of Kumho Tires Company.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Mr. Tran Hai Linh, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Korea, emphasized: “This festival aims to create a healthy playground, contributing to promoting and enhancing the cultural and artistic movement, creating solidarity and attachment for the Vietnamese community in Korea and towards the homeland; at the same time, introducing the unique traditional cultural features of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends. The 3rd Vietnamese Cultural Festival in Korea also aims to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2013)”.
On behalf of the Vietnamese community in Korea, Mr. Tran Hai Linh also expressed his gratitude to Kumho Tires Company, Korea Securities Company (KIS) and Korean social organizations for their valuable contributions both materially and spiritually to the community over the past time, contributing to strengthening the exchange and solidarity between the people of Vietnam and Korea.

On behalf of the Embassy, Minister Nguyen Manh Dong emphasized: “This is a meaningful cultural event. Looking back at the relationship between the two countries over the past 20 years, we are very happy and proud that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Korea have developed rapidly in all fields of politics and economics, society and culture, science and technology, security, defense, education and training, and people-to-people exchange.”
The Ambassador also emphasized that the work of the Vietnamese Association in Korea has made great strides in recent times. The Association has done many useful things for the community, truly becoming a factor connecting and uniting the Vietnamese community in Korea. The Association also contributes an important part in promoting the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Korea.

The third Vietnam Cultural Festival in Korea has created special attraction with rich programs and activities, such as: Ao Dai and traditional costume performances, reenactment of traditional Vietnamese weddings, folk games, display of traditional handicraft products, singing and dancing competitions, traditional musical instrument performances, competition to learn about Vietnamese culture and country for Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families, and promotion of cuisine of the three regions of North-Central-South with dishes imbued with Vietnamese national identity made by the Vietnamese community in Korea.
The festival was enriched with the participation of Meritorious Artist Trong Phuc with his smooth and profound folk and vọng cổ melodies. The community also had a hearty laugh with the performances of two famous singers from Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Son and Son Hai.
The festival attracted more than 2,000 participants and left an unforgettable impression with “Vietnamese culture in Korea”./.
