Specifically, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said the arrested man (who has not been named) had planned 15 different attacks, targeting a mosque, a synagogue, tax offices, police headquarters and several other locations. He was found in possession of five automatic rifles, more than 5,000 rounds of ammunition, two anti-tank grenade launchers, 125kg of TNT, 100 detonators and 20 balaclavas.
Reuters news agency quoted Mr. Vasily Gritsak, director of the SBU: "During the interrogation, this man made negative comments about the policy of the French Government, about mass immigration and the development of Islam. He also revealed a lot about his terrorist plans."
Ukrainian police arrested the man at the Ukraine-Poland border. The SBU had been monitoring the terrorist plotter since December 2015, when he repeatedly visited Ukraine and contacted illegal armed groups there to buy weapons and explosives. In recent days, the French government has tightened security by mobilizing more than 90,000 security personnel to protect the safety of Euro 2016.
