"Warm" car market

(Baonghean.vn) -With the massive appearance of some B-segment cars (mid-range cars) such as Honda City, Nissan Sunny of Honda, Nissan brands, along with the mentality of "avoiding" shopping in August (ie the seventh lunar month), which is considered unlucky by people, the car market in Nghe An in July is becoming "lively" and the situation of "scarcity" of cars appears at most car dealers in the area.

Prices increase - purchasing power does not decrease!

From August 1, all car models distributed by Toyota Vietnam, including domestically assembled cars and imported cars, have increased in price. In this adjustment, the car model with the lowest increase is the Vios E manual transmission (1.60% - equivalent to 9 million VND), while the car model with the highest increase is the Camry 2.5Q (4.11% - equivalent to 51 million VND). Currently, Toyota Vinh has applied the new price to customers who register after July 5 and even before July 5 for customers who agree to receive the car from August 1 onwards.

Discussing the reason for the increase in car prices, Mr. Phung Ba Ngoc - Deputy Director of Toyota Vinh said: "The increase in car prices is due to the change in the USD/VND exchange rate issued by the State Bank from June 28. In addition, car models with large increases such as Camry 2.5Q are due to the addition of an electronic balance system (VSC). However, the number of cars sold as well as the number of customers registering to buy cars in July at Toyota Vinh has not decreased but has tended to increase."

Mr. Ngoc also added: "The number of customers who registered to buy cars at Toyota Vinh in July and received cars in August and September was 43 customers. If compared with the number of customers who have and will receive cars in the whole month of July (110 cars), it is clear that purchasing power has not decreased."

New car models warm up the market!

In the past June, in the Vietnamese automobile market, there appeared 2 car lines that people eagerly awaited, Honda City and Nissan Sunny. The general feeling of customers at the 2 Honda Vinh and Nissan Vinh car dealerships about these 2 car lines is good quality and quite reasonable price: Honda City price from 540 - 580 million VND, Nissan Sunny 538 - 588 million VND.

Talking to us about the purchasing power of the market when the Honda City line appeared, Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu - Sales Director of Honda Vinh Dealer said: "As soon as the Honda City line was launched on the market, the average number of cars sold by the dealer was more than 100 units/month. Customers even had to wait 2-3 months to receive the car."

Meanwhile, Mr. Ho The Anh - sales staff of Nissan Vinh Dealer also said that the number of customers interested in the Nissan Sunny car line is very large, currently the dealer is not enough to supply the number of registered orders. Even some customers have registered and already have cars, but before the delivery date, the dealer is not in a hurry to hand over and use the customer's car to display the product.

Customers do not wait for import tax reduction

According to the draft circular on Vietnam's special preferential import tax schedule to implement the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement 2012-2014, most of the tax rates on passenger cars imported from ASEAN countries will be only 50% in 2014. Discussing this information with Mr. Bui Quang Sang (Trung Do ward, Vinh city) - one of the customers at Toyota Vinh, he said that the import tax reduction is just a draft so he does not expect much, and besides, the draft will not be passed in a day or two, so I also gave up the "waiting mentality" and decided to go to Toyota Vinh to consult and get advice on the car models that I am interested in.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Phuong (Hung Binh Ward, Vinh City) said that buying a car at the present time is appropriate, because if you wait until the end of the year, the demand for buying a car for Tet will be very large and the car market at the end of the year will certainly be scarce and have many fluctuations in price.

According to our observations, at car dealerships in Vinh City, the number of customers coming to get advice at the dealerships is quite busy while the number of cars on display is very limited, the list of customers registering to buy cars is also quite long, through which we can see that the car market in Nghe An is "warming up" every day!
