Eating fish every week helps children increase their IQ
Eating fish at least once a week increases a child's IQ by nearly 5 points.
According to Fox News, the above conclusion was made after scientists from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) conducted a study on 541 Chinese children aged 9-11. The results showed that children who ate fish at least once a week had IQ test scores 4.8 points higher than children who rarely or never ate fish. Children who occasionally ate fish also had better language and non-verbal skills than their peers who did not eat fish.
Additionally, the study found that young volunteers who regularly consumed fish had fewer sleep problems.

"This study shows that eating fish has many important health benefits," said Jennifer Pinto-Martinone, executive director of the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Public Health. "Children should be introduced to fish early, and this requires effort, especially in areas where fish is not traditionally eaten. Children are very sensitive to the smell and will avoid fish if they are not introduced to it."
