Speaking at the launch ceremony, Minister Nabi Azad said that the device is domestically manufactured in India and will be available in the market within the next 8-9 months, with efforts to supply it to community health centers in the first batch.

The AV Magnivisualizer device, developed by the Institute of Cytology and Cancer Prevention, part of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), can detect precancerous cell lesions with an accuracy rate of up to 95%.

What's special is that using AV Magnivisualizer is very simple and convenient. Ordinary medical staff can also use it after basic instructions.

Trials have confirmed the effectiveness of AV Magnivisualizer in reducing the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer, especially in remote rural areas.

The AV Magnivisualizer costs just 10,000 rupees (about $162) compared to existing devices that cost up to 800,000-1,000,000 rupees. The AV Magnivisualizer operates on a 12-volt battery, making it ideal for rural areas where power outages are common.

Uterine cancer is the most common form of cancer in Indian women, especially among those who marry early.

According to current estimates, there are about 132,000 new cases of cervical cancer diagnosed in India each year and the number of deaths from this disease is up to 74,000, accounting for nearly one-third of the total number of deaths from cervical cancer globally./.
