A senior official from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs revealed that according to previous plans, President Xi Jinping will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 15, after which he will visit Colombo and Islamabad.
However, as President Mukherjee was not in the country, New Delhi requested Xi Jinping to visit India on September 17 and hold high-level talks the following day. India is currently awaiting a response from China.
