India: At least 10 people died during Hindu festival
The death toll could rise to 20 and 30 people were injured when a crowd standing on a pedestrian bridge at the station collapsed.
At least 10 people were killed and more than a dozen injured yesterday (February 10) when millions of Hindu devotees stampeded at a railway station in a northern Indian town.

Most of the victims were Hindus returning home after bathing in the Ganges River during a major religious festival. Railway Minister Pawan Bansal said the stampede occurred as crowds reached Allahaba station late last night.
Two Indian television channels, NDTV and CNN-IBN, reported that the death toll could rise to 20 and 30 injured when a crowd gathered at the collapsed pedestrian bridge at the station. The stampede continued despite police efforts to maintain order.
