India accuses Pakistan of continuing shelling in Jammu-Kashmir region
India's PTI news agency reported on the evening of January 3 that amid rising tensions along the border, Pakistani soldiers continued to violate the ceasefire agreement, firing heavy artillery and shelling at several posts of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Samba and Kathua districts, Jammu-Kashmir state, killing one Indian woman and injuring eight others.

Inspector General of BSF Rakesh Sharma said that Pakistani troops had launched heavy shelling and shelling on BSF posts and residential areas along the international border (IB) in Samba and Kathua districts since 9:30 pm on January 2.
BSF returned fire and stopped the shelling by Pakistani soldiers at 3am on January 3, but from 7am on the same day Pakistani soldiers continuously fired artillery at civilian areas.
