An Hoa prepares for the new salt season
(Baonghean.vn) - These days, the key salt production area of An Hoa in Quynh Luu district is bustling with the atmosphere of preparation for the new production season. Compared to previous years, this year's salt production facilities of salt farmers have received more new investment.
InThang Loi Salt Production Cooperative - An Hoa Commune, people are actively renovating the salt fields. The neat and clean salt drying plots are repaired and renewed. Many families have invested in building new sieves and filters to ensure good salt production. Mr. Bui Van Dong, Bac Loi hamlet, said: "From April to June is the production season. In recent years, the price of salt has been unstable, but he is still loyal to the profession like many other salt farmers in this area. This salt crop, my family went to the field to renovate the drying plots earlier to be proactive. My family spent nearly 4 million VND to make new sieves and filters to serve salt production."

Next to Uncle Dong is Ms. Ho Thi Thuy's salt drying area, with over 100 drying cells. This season, she also invested in rebuilding wells, water tanks, and 4 drying trays to filter water. According to her, investing in new trays will ensure health, reduce manual labor, and in favorable weather conditions, this year's salt crop will certainly promise high productivity.
Currently, the whole An Hoa commune has nearly 160 hectares of salt production, which is also the largest salt production area in Quynh Luu district. The whole commune has 14 hamlets, 7 of which are agricultural production hamlets and 7 of which are salt production hamlets, with 1,100 households/2,300 households in the whole commune. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quyet - Chairman of the People's Committee of An Hoa commune, said: The whole commune has 3 salt production cooperatives, namely Tan Thinh, Tan An and Thang Loi. To ensure salt production this year, the commune has implemented material support according to the state mechanism to the salt farmers at the rate of 1 million/set (2 pieces) of filtered water, the rest is the people's own effort. In this spirit, starting from November 2012, the commune has directed the people to go to the fields to repair the ponds, preparing for the new salt production season. After the full moon, people actively repaired the masonry... Up to now, the whole commune has repaired over 80% of the facilities, constructed and built over 300 filter sets, and implemented a model of spreading tarpaulins to dry over 3,000m2.2 .
