Amnesty International: Hong Kong police used excessive force
According to AFP, Amnesty International (AI) on November 28 warned Hong Kong against using "excessive force" ahead of a planned rally by protesters.
The announcement comes after scuffles broke out when a key protest site was cleared earlier this week.

“The police’s heavy-handed approach violates protesters’ rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly and risks exacerbating an already tense situation,” said Mabel Au, director of AI Hong Kong.
During a two-day operation earlier this week, police sprayed “pepper water” at crowds as they cleared tents and barricades in the bustling Mongkok commercial district, arresting more than 140 people.
AI said it witnessed the use of “unjustifiable force against protesters, journalists and passersby.”
