(Baonghean)During the "bumper crop" of achievements and high rankings for students from Nghe An province in the 2012 university and college entrance exams, Hung Nguyen district was honored to have outstanding representatives: the twin brothers Ngo Van Hung and Ngo Van Dung, students of class 12A1 at Le Hong Phong High School. Each of them passed the entrance exams for two universities with high scores.

Ngo Van Hung and Ngo Van Dung are twin brothers (born in 1994) from a poor farming family with three siblings. Inheriting the tradition of academic excellence and success from the renowned Ngo family in the locality, and understanding their family's circumstances and the hardships their parents faced, the two brothers encouraged each other to study hard to repay their parents' efforts. While attending Hung Xa Primary School, they consistently achieved excellent student status and were recognized as "Good Children of Uncle Ho." Upon entering secondary school, they received an invitation to attend the specialized secondary school in Hung Nguyen district, but due to their family's poverty and the school's distance from home, they chose to attend Hung Long Secondary School nearby to ease the burden on their parents. It wasn't until high school that they received a bicycle as a reward from relatives and friends.

The two brothers are Ngo Van Dung and Ngo Van Hung.

However, during their years studying here, this pair were always excellent students, achieving outstanding academic results compared to their peers. In 9th grade, Ngo Van Hung won third prize in the district-level excellent student competition in Mathematics and third prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition in Physics, while Ngo Van Dung also won second prize in Mathematics and a consolation prize in Chemistry in the district-level excellent student competition.

Outside of school hours, Hung and Dung help their parents with farm work and household chores, while also using their time to study and improve their skills. Every night, locals often see Soa's house lit up until 1 or 2 in the morning. Thanks to their tireless efforts, the two brothers have achieved even more remarkable accomplishments: Ngo Van Dung has consistently been an all-around excellent student for three consecutive years at Le Hong Phong High School, while Ngo Van Hung won second prize in the Physics Olympiad, third prize in the provincial English competition for gifted students, and second prize in the provincial Physics competition for gifted students.

Although both brothers excelled in science subjects (Group A), their parents wanted them to take the entrance exam for medical school (Group B) to increase their chances of finding employment after graduation. Out of love for their parents and a shared ambition to become excellent doctors to treat the poor, both brothers took the entrance exams for Group A and Group B. Their results surprised and impressed everyone: The older brother, Ngo Van Hung, was admitted to Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Group A), majoring in Electronics and Telecommunications, with 27 points, and Hanoi Medical University (Group B), also with 27 points. His younger brother, Ngo Van Dung, matched his brother's achievements with 28 points for the Military Medical Academy (Group B) and 25.5 points for the University of Civil Engineering.

Proud of her students, Ms. Ho Thi Nghia, the math teacher and homeroom teacher of the two students, shared: “Hung and Dung are well-behaved, obedient students who listen to their teachers. They are role models of self-discipline in learning, diligent in thinking, and always ready to help their friends when they encounter difficulties in their studies…”.

The outstanding academic achievements of twins Ngo Van Hung and Ngo Van Dung have further enhanced the glorious tradition of Le Hong Phong High School, representing the bright blossoms of the young generation of Hung Nguyen district on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Le Hong Phong.
