Transporting corn home is very difficult. |
Ms. Vo Thi Tam's family in village 7, Hoi Son commune, said: "This morning, my family finished harvesting the corn, but because the road was muddy, it was very difficult to transport the corn home. The biggest worry is that it will rain continuously for the next few days, and the corn brought home will be at risk of sprouting."
In the summer-autumn crop of 2015, the whole Anh Son district planted 1,700 hectares of summer-autumn corn. This is considered the summer-autumn crop with the largest corn area ever planted, with an estimated yield of 5 tons/ha. Currently, the agricultural sector of Anh Son district has directed localities to urgently focus on harvesting corn on alluvial lands to avoid damage caused by floods.
