Mr. Son: Truck hit group of students, 6 students injured and dead
Initial information, the incident occurred at around 2:25 p.m. on May 23, in Block 4, Anh Son Town, Anh Son District (Nghe An), near the Vietnam - Laos cemetery. Some witnesses said that at that time, the truck with license plate 37C - 022.53 driven byNguyen Canh Toan(residing at block 4 - Do Luong town,Nghe An) thingcontrolpig directionCon Cuong to Dien Chaucrashed straight into a group of 12th graders on their way to review for exams.
The truck dragged 8 bicycles on the road, of which 5 were dragged under the trailer for about 100m along with the students. At the scene, one student died, 5 were injured, of which 1 was seriously injured and was transferred to a higher level. The 8 bicycles dragged under the car were all severely damaged.

Immediately after the accident, people quickly took the injured children to Anh Son District General Hospital for emergency treatment.
On the afternoon of May 23, Mr. Nguyen Canh Tuan - Principal of Anh Son I High School said that the identities of the students involved in the accident include: Nguyen Thi Cuc (student of class 12D3, in hamlet 11, Tuong Son commune, Anh Son district) - died; Truong Thi Dung (student of class 12A4, Anh Son I High School) was seriously injured and is being transferred to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment, the remaining 4 students, Hiep, Anh, Loan, Thien (last names unknown) have overcome the critical stage and their health is progressing well, with no threat to their lives.
After the accident, district leadersMr. SonandAnh Son I High Schoolvisited and encouraged the families of the victims.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training also said: "After receiving information from Anh Son I High School that a group of students had an accident on their way to review for the exam, the Department of Education and Training sent a delegation to visit, share and encourage the families of the students who were in the accident."
The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by Anh Son district police.
