Mr. Son: Striving to reduce the poverty rate to 11.20% by the end of 2014
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 11, 2014, Anh Son District People's Committee held a conference to evaluate poverty reduction work in the period 2011-2013, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of the year and the coming years.
Implementing Resolution 80/CP on sustainable poverty reduction orientation for the period 2011-2020, the poverty reduction program, job creation, and social security policies in the district have achieved remarkable results.

The campaign to support 61 poor villages is a correct and timely policy that has aroused the traditional morality of "the strong help the weak", the sentiment of sharing with the poor. The District People's Committee has assigned specific tasks, all levels, sectors and the entire political system from the district to the villages to participate responsibly and effectively. Through the support of agencies and units with specific activities to help people in poor villages with material and spiritual support, helping them innovate their ways of doing business, applying techniques in animal husbandry and cultivation, transforming the structure of crops and livestock to increase income.
In 3 years (2011-2013), Anh Son district has built many sustainable forest development business models. Propagating and replicating many models of rising up to poverty reduction, annually creating jobs for 1,800-2,100 people, exporting labor from 450-670 people. 100% of poor households are granted health insurance cards, contributing to reducing the poverty rate from 24.7% in 2010 to 14.97% in 2013. Anh Son's poverty reduction target for the period 2011-2013 is 15.45% to 11.20% by the end of 2014, in which 5 key communes of new rural construction will reduce to below 5% and reduce from 3-7% in the remaining communes from 2016-2020.
In his concluding speech at the conference, Secretary of the District Party Committee Le Hong Vinh highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee and people of Anh Son. He also pointed out the limitations that need to be overcome, and at the same time suggested that poverty reduction must become a regular movement, and the entire political system must participate.
