Anh Son develops clean industry

(Baonghean) - From now until 2020, with a vision to 2030, Anh Son district aims to promote industrial development with preferential policies to attract investment and support local industrial enterprises. Industry in the area is developed with key areas such as sugar, cement, tea, burnt bricks... in a clean and environmentally friendly direction.

Momentum from new factory

Anh Son is a low mountainous district located in the southwest of Nghe An province with many advantages and developing industry, small-scale industry and trade. Currently, the district has many factories, constructions, many industrial products such as cement, bricks, tiles, stones, sand, gravel, sugar, tea, exported clothes... The whole district has more than 100 operating enterprises, with 21 rural markets. In particular, since Song Lam 2 Cement Factory went into production, it has created a strong development momentum for the district.

Mr. Dinh The Quyen, a technician at Song Lam 2 Cement Factory, shared: “I was lucky to be accepted to work at the factory and was further trained to effectively use the new production line. The work is assigned based on products with an average salary of about 5 million VND/month. When working here, all policies for employees are guaranteed by the company, so I feel very secure at work.”

Nguyen Dinh Hau from Tru Son (Do Luong), who graduated from Vinh University of Technical Education, was also hired to work at the cement factory. He said: “Before officially working, I was sent by the factory to study at Vissai Ninh Binh Factory for 3 months on cement production techniques, then I was hired to work at the raw material workshop, specializing in supplying raw materials for rotary kiln operations. The work in this department is relatively hard, but the income is also stable, averaging over 5 million VND/month. For me, having a job near home is also a lucky thing.”

Song Lam 2 Cement Plant has a capacity of 600,000 tons of cement/year with PCP30, PCP40 cement products and PCP50 clinker. In the first 10 months of 2016, the plant produced nearly 50,000 tons of Clinker, 40,884 tons of PCB 40 bulk cement, 30,658 bags of PCB 40 bagged cement, revenue reached nearly 60 billion VND, tax payment was 41 billion VND. The plant has advanced technology to ensure environmental hygiene. Since its operation, the plant has promoted the development of services and transportation in the town and surrounding areas.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung - Chairman of Hoi Son Commune People's Committee said: After 2 years of operation, Song Lam 2 Cement Factory has contributed to solving the problem of local labor working at the factory with the number of 120-150 people, stable salary and many seasonal workers. Along with that, service activities in the area are also more vibrant than before, especially business and trading stores, mechanical repair and welding workshops...

Currently in Anh Son, cement is the main industrial product of the district with Song Lam 2 Cement Factory of The Vissai Group and Thanh Son Company Limited with a designed capacity of 88,000 tons/year. Currently, the factories have been operating to produce products and create jobs for thousands of local workers. In addition, in Cam Son and Hoi Son communes, there are 2 enterprises participating in the production of terracotta bricks, bringing to the market more than 15 million bricks/year.

Clean industry development direction

Industrial production sectors are prioritized by Anh Son district and organized to sign commitments with factories to ensure the environment. In the area, the diameter product produced by Song Lam Sugar Joint Stock Company is recorded, with an annual output of 7,000-8,000 tons. Currently, the company has a raw sugarcane area of ​​3,000 hectares; the factory is renovating equipment, increasing the capacity from 1,500 tons of sugarcane/day to 3,000 tons of sugarcane/day by 2020.

To produce clean sugar, the company has invested in building a biofertilizer factory, a system to treat smoke and dust from the alcohol boiler, and a system to treat waste water from alcohol production with a total investment of VND 8.2 billion. In particular, the company has utilized bagasse ash to produce 5,000 tons of biofertilizer per year. Utilizing waste sludge as biofertilizer has thoroughly treated about 100 tons of waste per year, limiting odor pollution at the factory as well as the surrounding environment. The amount of wastewater (100m3/day) has also been treated to meet environmental standards.

Another product of Anh Son is also operating according to the clean production model, which is industrial tea processing based on tea buds, grown in many communes in the district, including the communes: Long Son, Phuc Son, Hoi Son, Hoa Son, Cam Son, Hung Son, Duc Son, Dinh Son, Tuong Son, Tam Son... To meet the demand for processing fresh tea buds, in addition to the 3 enterprises that produced before 2010 (Dinh Son Tea Factory, Black Tea Factory, Hung Son Tea Factory), up to now, there have been 3 more private enterprises participating in tea processing. Industrial tea output has maintained a fairly good level of development, averaging 4,000 - 5,000 tons/year. Anh Son tea products have built brands such as Mac Dien tea, Hung Son tea, which are favored by customers nationwide.

Anh Son is striving to increase the contribution of the industrial sector to the district's GDP structure; the proportion of the industrial sector in the area will reach 40% by 2020. The annual industrial growth rate in the period 2015 - 2020 will increase by 15%; in the period 2020 - 2030 it will reach 12 - 15%. The value of industrial production (industry - handicraft - construction) by 2020 will reach about 2,100 billion VND.
