All 20 schools have pledged to give the Can Tho native a full long-term scholarship, along with the highest level of training and competition support. This is also the model of international chess grandmaster Le Quang Liem, who is studying business administration and is a member of the chess team at the prestigious Webster University.

After 4 years of training in the US, Anh Vien became one of the most successful foreign athletes, causing a big stir, especially with the feat of winning 8 gold medals, breaking 8 records at the 28th SEA Games, along with a silver medal, a bronze medal at the World Cup. This swimmer is considered a great example, full of inspiration for young athletes of difficult sports to strive to follow.

Being “hunted” by 20 American universities, the 20-year-old girl from Can Tho has many good opportunities for the future and a career to choose from. However, currently, Anh Vien has not yet considered enrolling in a university to both study culture and practice and compete, because she is determined to devote all her efforts to swimming until at least after the 2020 Olympics. Recently, Anh Vien has just returned to Vietnam to complete the first semester exam of grade 12, at the continuing education center of Thu Duc district (HCMC), where the Vietnamese swimming team is located.

Returning to the US to train since mid-January, Anh Vien entered the peak period of preparation for the 2016 Olympics, the tournament she qualified to compete in by achieving three A standards. Vien's goal at the highest international arena in Brazil is to reach the finals, corresponding to the top 8 in some of her strong events such as the 200m medley, 400m medley, and 200m backstroke.
