Apple kills Google Maps 1 year ahead of schedule
After Apple killed Google Maps and introduced their own Maps application into iOS 6, the company received a lot of criticism because the "substitute" had such poor quality.
Some sources say that the reason Apple had to replace Google Maps with iOS Maps was because their contract with the "search giant" had expired.

However, according to the latest revelation from The Verge, "Apple" still has a year to maintain Google's map application on iOS devices. However, the iPhone and iPad manufacturer decided to kill Google Maps early because they felt that this application on iOS was not treated fairly as on Android, because according to Apple, Google Maps for Android has more rich features.
So Apple boldly rolled out their own Maps app despite the many shortcomings that still exist.
In another related development, the New York Times revealed that, although Google Chairman Eric Schmidt affirmed that they have not developed any separate version of Maps, the company is actually preparing to launch a standalone Google Maps application for iPhone and iPad later this year.
Previously, Apple was also said to have actively recruited more former Google Maps engineers to improve the mapping service that they are being heavily criticized for./.
