Argentina 2-1 Bosnia: Hard-fought victory
Messi had a hand in both goals to help Argentina win 2-1 against Bosnia in a match that was considered the most boring and dull since the beginning of the tournament.

In the 3rd minute, from a free kick on the left wing, Messi crossed the ball seemingly harmlessly but the ball unexpectedly hit Bosnian defender Kolasinac's foot and bounced into his own net as goalkeeper Begovic flew in despair. 1-0 for Argentina.
After conceding the goal, Bosnian players did not dare to push up their formation to find an equalizer. When they had the ball, Bosnia often used hanging balls whenever possible for Dzeko or Misimovic to take advantage of their height to create breakthroughs.

In that dull match, Argentina unexpectedly doubled the gap with a sudden acceleration. In the 65th minute, from a very good coordination from the middle of the field by the Argentine players, the ball was passed to Messi's feet, Messi used his speed to rush straight into the middle of the Bosnian players and then launched a curling shot into the far corner, the ball bounced off the inside of the post and went straight into the net. 2-0 for Argentina.

In the 85th minute, Bosnia scored a goal to shorten the score after Ibesevic quickly shot past goalkeeper Romero's legs.
Bosnia's goal to reduce the deficit helped the match become more exciting as Bosnia determined to accelerate to find an equalizer. However, the remaining few minutes were not enough for the Bosnian players to make a difference. On the contrary, Bosnia almost conceded another goal after Messi's close-range shot went into the net. 2-1 in favor of Argentina was also the final score of the match.
