Arsenal determined to spend big in Higuain deal
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are about to successfully recruit striker Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid after deciding to spend up to 22 million pounds.
If Real agree to the above price, the Argentine striker will become the most expensive contract in Arsenal's history. This record previously belonged to Santi Cazorla (16 million pounds).
As well as being ready to set their new transfer record, Arsenal are also planning to make Higuain the club's highest earner on £150,000 a week.
Previously, in 2006, the Gunners failed in the race to sign this striker against the strong financial potential of Real Madrid.
Previously, Arsenal expressed their desire to recruit Wayne Rooney. However, the indecision of Manchester United's leadership as well as the English striker himself forced the "Gunners" to change their target.
In another move, Arsenal are leading the race to sign Spain U21 international Asier Illarramendi. Manager Arsene Wenger hopes Real Sociedad will accept a £10 million bid./.
