People in Tan An Catholic village live a good life and practice good religion.

(Baonghean) -Up to now, Tan An village, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district has 200 households, with 1,100 people living mainly on fishing and providing services. The village has 35 boats, creating jobs for nearly 400 workers, catching thousands of tons of seafood every year. Since the State provided loans for hunger eradication and poverty alleviation, people have been able to build vertical-bow boats, boats equipped with technical equipment such as walkie-talkies, fish finders, GPS devices, life buoys, etc. to fish far from shore and stay at sea for long periods of time.

From a strip of land on the banks of the Mai Giang River in An Hoa Commune (Quynh Luu), in 1870, some fishermen on the river came up to build temporary shelters and called it the New Hamlet. Seeing that this place was peaceful, dozens of families fishing on the Mai Giang River came to build houses and named it Tan An Hamlet. Since then, the parishioners have followed Uncle Ho's teachings: "Respect God and love the country", taking care of labor and production. From a poor hamlet to a wealthy one, all obligations to the State have been fulfilled. In 2008, the tax was 31 million VND, but 31,820,000 VND was paid, the Education Promotion Fund, the Poor Fund, the War Invalids and Martyrs Fund... contributed in full. Families have equipped themselves with expensive furniture, audio and visual equipment, telephones, many families have motorbikes, some have cars. Children of school age all attend kindergarten, primary school, and junior high school, 30 children attend high school, and 14 children attend college or university. The village has families with 3 children attending college or university, such as Mr. Hoa, Mr. Hoan, Mrs. Huy, Mr. Phung, Mr. Tuyet... In 2002, Tan An village was recognized as a Cultural Village, and in 2007 it was recognized as a Cultural Village for the second time.
