On March 10, the Ho Chi Minh City District 7 Police Department announced that they had just decided to temporarily detain suspect Nguyen Thi Deo (born in 1955, from An Giang) to investigate the act of "robbery".

According to initial information, late on March 8, Ms. Deo wore a mask, gloves, and brought with her a number of tools and weapons such as a Thai knife, parachute cord, zinc wire... to break into the house of Ms. HTTT (42 years old) on Le Van Luong Street, Tan Quy Ward, District 7.

After successfully breaking into the house above, Deo climbed to the 3rd floor, got a hammer, then went into a room on the 2nd floor to pry open the safe but failed, so he climbed to the 3rd floor to hide.

At around 3:00 a.m. on March 9, Deo put on a jacket, hood, mask, and gloves, then took a hammer and a Thai knife and entered Ms. T. and her daughter's room, restrained them, and forced Ms. T. to open the safe to get money.

However, because the safe had been broken before, Ms. T. could not open it. Ms. Deo then forced Ms. T. to open the women's cabinet and take jewelry from the cabinet including: 1 necklace, 1 pair of earrings, 2 rings, 1 bracelet and more than 6 million VND in cash and gave it to her.

After obtaining the property, this woman used wire to tie Ms. T. and her daughter into the bathroom, and used mouse glue and a handkerchief to gag Ms. T. and her daughter.

Then, Deo climbed over the second floor railing and slid down the water pipe but forgot to bring a rope so he couldn't go down and had to climb back up the railing to rest.

At 5am the same day, the maid who had just brought Ms. T.'s family up to clean the house discovered that the mother and child were locked in the bathroom and shouted for help. Realizing that she had been discovered, Ms. Deo ran into Ms. T.'s room and held a knife.

The incident was reported to the Tan Quy Ward police. Using professional measures, the police broke the door, controlled Ms. Deo, and recovered the stolen property.

At the police station, Ms. Deo admitted her crime. It is known that Ms. Deo used to be a maid for Ms. T.'s family. Because she was familiar with the house, when she needed money, she came up with the idea of returning to her former employer's house to rob her.

According to Ms. Deo, she learned how to organize the robbery from a TV series that the suspect had watched. The case is currently under further investigation.
