Hillary Clinton announces her candidacy for US President 2016

The Wall Street Journal reported that former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that she will join the US presidential campaign in April 2015.

According to the newspaper, Mrs. Clinton has informed Democratic Party donors about starting to participate in presidential campaigns earlier than expected in order to quickly raise funds.

By law, a campaign fund must have more than $1 billion.

Previously, in September 2014, Hillary Clinton hinted at running for president in the next term. In 2008, Hillary Clinton ran for president and was Barack Obama's main opponent.

In November 2014, US President Barack Obama said that “it would be wonderful” if former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton became US president.

Among the potential candidates for the US presidency in 2016 are billionaire Donald Trump and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to the Constitution, US President Barack Obama is not eligible to run for a third term.
