(Baonghean.vn) - Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Tinh in Nghi Hoa commune, Nghi Loc district. This year she turned 101 years old, she had an only son, martyr Tran Van Hanh, who died in 1970 on the southern battlefield.

Mother Tinh was born into a poor farming family in the rice fields of Hau Thanh commune (Yen Thanh). When she was young, she had to work for a landlord. Not only did her husband sacrifice for the revolution, but her only son also devoted himself to the battlefields of the South. Although she did not leave to join the resistance, she contributed a great deal to raising revolutionary cadres and supplying food to soldiers. In peacetime, mother was active in her role as a women's cadre in Nghi Hoa commune. Mother was a shining example for everyone to learn from. Currently, mother still lives a simple, modest life in a small, cozy house with her nephew and his wife, Mr. Tran Van Phong, in Nghi Hoa commune, Nghi Loc district.

Mr. Phong's wife takes care of her mother every day.

According to Mr. Phong: When she was a girl, her mother was famous for her beauty in Hau Thanh land. By chance, she met a son who was born and raised in the parish of Nghi Hoa commune (Nghi Loc), Mr. Tran Van Thao. The couple lived happily together for 5 years and gave birth to a son, Tran Van Hanh. In her youth, her mother did many jobs: selling lemons and peanuts from Nghe An to the North. On her shoulder pole, one side was lemons and the other was Hanh. That was how mother and son traveled together for a long time. One time, it rained heavily, the road was deserted without a roof, mother and son ate rice balls mixed with rainwater. The hardest thing was that my mother went to sell American lampshades. Many times she slipped and broke all the lampshades. She could only watch and cry. She also collected old oil lamps that people had thrown away, brought them home to clean them and then exchanged them for rice. If a family was poor, she would give them away and not sell them.

Despite her old age and poor health, my mother always worried about everyone. Whenever she heard of a family in the neighborhood having a dispute, she immediately asked Phong (her nephew) to bring her there to reconcile and advise, regardless of the time of day or night. Everyone in Nghi Hoa commune secretly admired my mother.

Nghi Hoa commune youth union visited mother.

Mr. Phong works as an electronics repairman at home, his wife makes rice paper, although life is not rich, it is enough to cover daily expenses. Although Mr. Phong and his wife are busy with life, they always take good care of their mother, so that she can always live a healthy and happy life in her old age.
