Three astronauts return to Earth safely from ISS

In the early morning of May 24, the landing part of the Soyuz ТМА-20 spacecraft landed in the steppe of Kazakhstan, bringing three astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) back to Earth safely.

This is the 26th/27th international travel team, including Russian astronaut Dmitry Kondrachiev, Italian astronaut of the European Space Agency Paolo Nespoli and American female astronaut Catherine Kolman.

They worked on the ISS for 160 days and nights, welcoming two space shuttles Discovery and Indevour, two Japanese and European cargo ships HTV-2 and ATV-2, and two Russian cargo ships Progress.

Together with cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka, who returned to Earth in mid-March, cosmonaut Kondrachiev has worked in space twice.

The 26th/27th international flight team carried out a major program of scientific experiments and research, including two projects on restoring DNA structure in space and studying the effects of radiation on humans.

The 28th international crew is currently working on the ISS with two Russian astronauts and one American astronaut.
