Lesson 1: When young party members play a key role in the Party committee and government

Born in Nam Dan land - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, more than anyone else, young party members here carry within themselves pride and a deep sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting the traditions of their homeland, creating a source of vitality to contribute to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party in the new period.

While the aging of party members is quite severe in many rural areas of Nghe An province, in Nam Dan, more and more young party members are becoming typical examples. They have promoted their capacity well and played a key role in local Party committees and authorities at all levels.

Enthusiastic and creative female village chief

Volunteered to donate 400m2 of land to makerural roadsof hamlet 12, Khanh Son commune, but Ms. Nguyen Thi Dong (born in 1982) considers it a very normal thing. Over the years, as a young party member of the hamlet party cell, she has actively taken on many important positions such as hamlet chief, farmer association chief, and women's association chief of hamlet 12. In any role or position, she always shows enthusiasm and creativity, becoming a bridge to help the Party Committee and government implement the resolutions, tasks and goals set out.

Stopping on the smooth concrete road of hamlet 12, hamlet chief Nguyen Thi Dong could not hide her excitement, sharing: “This is the family of Mr. Le Van Kiem (born in 1975). Although his family is not well-off, he understands the correct policy of the Party Committee in building advanced new rural areas, and has volunteered to donate more than 300m of land to build the road. Some places need to be 3m wide, some places need to be 2m wide, so his family has donated about 600m² of land so that the hamlet can have this spacious and airy road. And the other is the family of Mrs. Phan Thi Que (born in 1948) and the family of Mr. Le Van Cuong (born in 1946). Although their economic situation is average, they have also volunteered to donate hundreds of square meters of garden land to help the hamlet complete the criteria for building advanced new rural areas.”

Adding to the story, Mr. Le Van Hoa - Secretary of Hamlet 12 - shared: “Since 2023, Hamlet 12, Khanh Son Commune has taken on a new look, with 8 important intra-village and inter-village roads being concreted with a total length of 2,800m and width from 4.5m to 5m. In addition to each household contributing 19 million VND, many families have also volunteered to donate 300 - 400m along the road to complete the set goal. In addition, the system of cultural houses, community sports grounds, cultural institutions and infrastructure of the hamlet have also been renovated and completed.”

Behind these achievements, it is impossible not to mention the role of the village chief Nguyen Thi Dong - a young and enthusiastic party member. In addition to being an exemplary person in donating more than 400m2 of land, she also directly participated in surveys, made plans with the local government and mobilized people to contribute. During the mobilization process, Ms. Dong did not hesitate to go from house to house, meet each household to talk and analyze. Her sincerity has made many people change their minds, from fear to agreement, then support financially or volunteer to donate land. In particular, she is also a bridge for benefactors to support 250 million VND to build a welcome gate for the village.

Ms. Dong shared: "We have to do it first so that people will trust and follow. Sometimes, we have to spend the whole evening talking to households that do not agree, sometimes just to explain a small thing that they do not understand clearly. But I think, as long as everyone is in agreement, everything will go smoothly."

These efforts of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dong have contributed to helping Hamlet 12 achieve many important criteria in the new rural construction program and create a spirit of solidarity and consensus in the community. To the people here, she is a hamlet chief, a young party member who is very responsible for the assigned tasks.

Deputy Secretary of the Military Party Cell of the Commune with Many Achievements

Born in 1996, but in recent times, Hoang Nghia Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Xuan Lam Commune Military Party Cell, Commander of the Xuan Lam Commune Military Command has made many strong impressions with high achievements such as: Second Prize in the Provincial Mobile Militia Platoon Sports Festival in 2022; Second Prize in "Combined Military Triathlon" in 2022; and First Prize in the 82mm Mortar Squad at the 2024 All-Round Militia Artillery Platoon Sports Festival organized by the Provincial Military Command, along with many certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Military Command and Nam Dan District. For Hoang Nghia Dung, that is a valuable recognition for him to continue his efforts in his work.

Hoang Nghia Dung shared that he was born and raised inNam Dan land rich in revolutionary tradition, and inherited a passion for working in the military field. Since childhood, Dung dreamed of working in a military environment. That dream became a reality when he passed the entrance exam to the Army Officer School 1 - Department of Local Military. After graduating in 2018 and returning to work in his hometown, Dung tried his best to complete the assigned tasks well.

In 2021, when the whole province in general and Nam Dan district in particular faced the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dung mobilized the local militia force to be on duty 24/7 at the epidemic checkpoints and F0, F1 quarantine areas of the commune. At the same time, he directly coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to carry out mass mobilization work, mobilizing people to strictly comply with the epidemic prevention and control rules. Thanks to that, the Xuan Lam Commune Military Command has become one of the units commended by Nam Dan district in the work of epidemic prevention and control. At the same time, this unit also successfully completed the tasks of training, drills and combat readiness.

Concerned with the work of creating a source of Party members, in his position as Deputy Secretary of the Commune Military Party Cell, Hoang Nghia Dung actively mobilized the mobile militia force to cultivate and train to join the Party. In 2024, under his leadership and companionship, 4 outstanding young people from the commune's mobile militia force were admitted to the Party, bringing the total number of Party members in this force to more than 70%.

Secretary of the Xuan Lam Commune Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thac Duong, said: Recently, Dung's initiative and experience in organizing and consolidating the militia and self-defense force has been recognized and commended by the Provincial Military Command. This is one of many important initiatives that Dung has implemented in recent times. Despite his young age, Dung has made many contributions to the locality in improving the quality of militia and self-defense training and promoting the emulation movement in the commune's armed forces. He also actively participates in social activities, contributing to the construction of new rural areas and maintaining security and order in the area. Dung's enthusiasm and sense of responsibility have motivated many young people in the commune to follow suit, contributing to the overall development of the locality in the new situation.

In the whole Nam Dan district, the young party members are increasingly asserting their core role in the local Party Committee and government. They not only bring dynamism and creativity but also demonstrate a high sense of responsibility, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the district.
