Lesson 3: Cultivating party members' ideals in the new situation

In the context that Nam Dan district - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh is gradually promoting its potential and strengths to become a bright spot in the socio-economic development movement, while building a strong Party and government. The task of cultivating the ideals of young party members to become the core force to inherit the cause of building the homeland and the country as Uncle Ho taught is extremely important.

In the context that Nam Dan district - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh is gradually promoting its potential and strengths to become a bright spot in the socio-economic development movement, while building a strong Party and government. The task of cultivating the ideals of young party members to become the core force to inherit the cause of building the homeland and the country as Uncle Ho taught is extremely important.

Developing party members from elite union members

In 2024, the Youth Union organizations of Nam Dan district introduced 127 outstanding members, of which 111 were admitted to the Party. Compared to the total number of 285 party members admitted to the Party in 2024 in the whole Nam Dan district, young party members of the youth union age accounted for nearly 40%. This shows that the source of young party members is increasingly consolidated and strongly developed in Nam Dan district.

The reason for this achievement, according to Mr. Dang Van Trung - Member of the District Party Executive Committee, Secretary of Nam Dan District Youth Union, is because in the past time, the implementation of the movement"Union members strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam"has been effectively implemented by the Youth Union at all levels. At the same time, the Youth Union has coordinated with the Party Committee and the government to focus on training and discovering outstanding members to introduce to the Party for consideration of admission. From there, it has created a source of young people with sufficient qualities and capacity to participate in the political system.

The Youth Union chapters at all levels also organize thematic activities on developing Party members, helping to improve the quality of members after admission. Developing Party members from outstanding members not only helps to consolidate the core force but also contributes positively to the construction and development of the homeland.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung - Secretary of Xuan Hoa Commune Youth Union said: "In 2015, after graduating from the Academy of Finance, I returned to my locality and participated in grassroots Youth Union activities. When I returned to my locality, I received a lot of attention from the Party Committee, the government, and the Commune Youth Union, creating conditions for me to promote my qualities and abilities, complete all assigned tasks, and thereby join the Party's ranks. In the Youth Union work, I always encourage and urge the youth union members and young people around me to always live with a spirit of dedication, constantly improve their knowledge, contribute with the Party Committee and government to perform well the political tasks, and together build a more prosperous and civilized homeland."

And Mr. Le Luu Thang - Director of Da Han Green Agricultural Products Production and Processing Cooperative in Nam Thanh Commune (Nam Dan), who has just received a Certificate of Merit from the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union for his outstanding achievements in implementing Directive No. 05 CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on"Promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle"said: "In 2018, when I first left the capital to return to my hometown to start a business, I faced many confusion and difficulties.

However, thanks to participating in union activities, from the educational and training activities to foster the ideology of the Youth Union at all levels, from the attention of the Party Committee and the government, I have more motivation to strive in economic development, supporting people to apply science and technology in farming to increase productivity and income. Since then, I have been honored to be admitted to the local Party. With the responsibility of a Party member, I always want to pass on the enthusiasm to contribute to building the homeland to the youth union members."

Strengthening political and ideological education

On March 24, 2015, Directive No. 42-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles for the young generation in the 2015-2030 period affirmed the need to strengthen traditional education for youth. In particular, it clearly defines the responsibilities of Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front, organizations, and the whole society, and at the same time requires building a healthy environment for the young generation to study, practice, strive, and mature.

In Nam Dan district, with the participation of the entire political system, the work of educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation has truly created motivation, contributing to enhancing patriotism and revolutionary spirit for the young generation, while helping the young generation have conditions to practice, mature and live exemplary lives with ideals.

The implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle has been carried out by the youth of Nam Dan district through many rich and creative activities such as: Organizing activities for the whole Union with the theme "Remembering Uncle Ho makes our hearts purer", helping the youth union members understand more deeply about Uncle Ho's ideology and morality; storytelling contests about Uncle Ho and contests to learn about his life and career.

These activities not only help union members and young people practice ethics and style but also arouse love for their homeland and national pride.

In Nam Anh commune, Mr. Tran Van Quyet - Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, who has been recognized many times as a typical example of "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" in the locality, said: "Every year, the commune youth union coordinates with the Party Committee and the government to develop and produce 35 - 50 news articles broadcast on the commune radio station, reports broadcast on district-level radio, and news articles on the district-level internal newsletter to propagate contents related to Party building work. At the same time, the commune's Facebook pages have also been operating effectively with news articles and images updated regularly and continuously."

Currently, the Nam Anh Commune Party Committee has 310 party members, of which 37 are young party members. According to Tran Van Quyet, the young party members have been given favorable conditions and opportunities to be challenged, trained and dedicated. The implementationThe model of "Young Party members helping outstanding members" has also helped young Party members to be guided and accompanied in all tasks to ensure a source of quality new Party members. This model has also been replicated in many communes of Uncle Ho's homeland.
