Here's a scientifically proven tip: make a playlist of the 10 songs that are considered the most relaxing on earth.

According to NCI.com, sound therapy has long been popular as a way to relax and restore health. For centuries, indigenous cultures have used music to enhance and improve health.

Now, neuroscientists in the UK have revealed which tunes are best for reducing stress.

Study participants were tasked with solving difficult puzzles as quickly as possible, while connected to sensor devices.

The puzzles induced a certain level of stress, and participants listened to different songs while researchers measured their brain activity as well as their physiological states, including heart rate, blood pressure and breathing rate.

According to Dr David Lewis-Hodgson of Mindlab International, which conducted the research, the top song produced more relaxation than any other type of music tested to date.

In fact, listening to the song "Weightless" can help listeners reduce their overall anxiety by up to 65%, and reduce their normal physiological resting rate by 35%.

This result is very impressive.

What's remarkable is that this song was actually designed for this purpose. Marconi Union, the band that created Weightless," composed the song in collaboration with sound therapists.

The song's carefully arranged melodies, tempos, and basslines help slow the listener's heart rate, lower blood pressure, and lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

Feeling anxious carries many serious health risks. Stress aggravates or increases the risk of health problems such as heart disease, obesity, depression, digestive problems, asthma, and many others.

More alarmingly, a recent study from Harvard and Stanford found that health problems caused by work stress alone can cause more deaths than diabetes, Alzheimer's or bird flu.

In today's age, science has clearly proven: if you want your mind and body to last a long time, you must prioritize allowing them to rest.

Music is an easy way to take some of the pressure off of all the alerts, phone calls, apps, emails, appointments, meetings, and deadlines that can easily spike your stress levels, leaving you feeling exhausted and anxious.

Of the top song, Dr David Lewis-Hodgson said, "'Weightless' is so effective that many women feel sleepy after listening to it, and I would advise against driving while listening to it as it could be dangerous."
