Nguyen Dinh Huy has been married for several years. They had a child together, but the child died shortly after birth, and his wife left home to work far away. Being young and lacking affection, Huy asked a friend to introduce him to her, and through text messages and phone calls, Huy met a girl named Nguyen Thi H. (born in 2000), who lives in Xuan Lam commune, Nam Dan district.

Determined to meet the “lover” of his dreams, one day in mid-October 2013, Huy texted H. and asked her out. H agreed and from then on, the two had sex as husband and wife.

As for H, she is in 8th grade. Her mother has been working abroad for several years now, and H. lives with her father and brother. Lacking her mother's love and father's care, her phone is her only friend. For nearly 3 days she "left home" without a word, causing her father to "lose his appetite and sleep". Because of love over the phone, she has repeatedly asked to drop out of school to get married, but her father did not allow her to marry him, so he threatened to go to the South to make a living. After asking around with friends, she learned that her daughter was living with Huy.

At noon on October 12, H's father called Huy and forced him to take H home. The father's intuition told him that H had been sexually abused, so that afternoon he went to the Nam Dan district police station to report Nguyen Dinh Huy for having sex with a child.

Nam Dan District Police together with Thanh Chuong District Police investigated the case. After verifying information, collecting documents, using professional measures, together with the family, they persuaded Huy to surrender. In the afternoon of the same day, Huy went to Thanh Chuong District Police to honestly report the incident.

If only parents paid more attention to their children and did not spoil them too much, then there would not be such heartbreaking incidents. This is a lesson not only for H. and Huy but also for all parents!
