During the Lunar New Year, Vietnamese embassies and diplomatic missions in many countries organized many activities to celebrate the Spring Festival, leaving an impression on overseas Vietnamese and international friends.
In America, the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations and the Vietnamese Consulate in New York organized "Community Tet - Homeland Spring 2023" with the participation of more than 500 Vietnamese people in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and the northeastern states of the US, and American friends supporting Vietnam.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang - Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations shared the difficulties that people have encountered due to the pandemic. Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang emphasized that the development of Vietnam - US relations has been greatly contributed by overseas Vietnamese, including those in the US, along with the support and assistance of American friends.
Overseas Vietnamese, officials, students and pupils were excited about the country's development and optimistically believed that Vietnam would continue to make new achievements in 2023. The meeting contributed to strengthening the connection between Vietnamese people living in the host country and their homeland. They shared joy, spread optimism, fostered national pride and multiplied their belief in the bright future of the country.

In Canada, The Consulate General of Vietnam in Vancouver organized Xuan Que Huong for the Vietnamese community in the Western region (British Columbia (BC), Alberta and Yukon). 400 Vietnamese people representing different professions, regions, organizations, generations... attended this traditional event.
In addition, there was also the participation of Minister in charge of Urban Affairs Anne Kang representing the BC provincial government, many Councilors of the cities (Vancouver, Richmond...), Consuls General of China, Korea, ASEAN, Canadian and international friends.
Consul General Nguyen Quang Trung informed about some key features of the socio-economic situation in the country and the cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and Canada in the past year.
In 2022, the two countries will have many activities to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the comprehensive partnership. Despite being affected by the pandemic, the value of import and export turnover between Vietnam and BC, AB still reached more than 3.5 billion CAD, higher than the previous year... The two countries will solemnly celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Canada diplomatic relations this year.

In BulgariaThe Vietnamese Embassy has coordinated with associations and organizations to celebrate the traditional New Year of the Cat 2023 for the entire Vietnamese community.
The event was enthusiastically responded to and prepared by all representatives in the community, from planning to wrap banh chung, practicing traditional arts and games to supporting traditional foods.
The event took place with a series of meaningful activities to connect the community such as organizing a table tennis tournament, folk games such as lion dance, bamboo dance, tug of war, ring toss, democratic flower picking... The activities help the younger generation, especially those with mixed Vietnamese-Bulgarian blood, understand the traditional values of Tet, fostering solidarity and looking back to their roots.
Ambassador Do Hoang Long informed about the country's positive economic and social development in recent times, and he hoped that people would take practical actions towards the country. Along with 300 Vietnamese people attending, the event also had many guests who have close relationships with the embassy.
In Belarus, The Vietnamese Embassy coordinated with the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association to organize "Spring Homeland - Quy Mao 2023" with the participation of over 400 people and relatives from the capital Minsk and neighboring localities.
This is the first time after more than two years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that the Vietnamese community in Belarus has had the opportunity to meet again during Tet. The Vietnamese community in Belarus currently has about 600 people, most of whom do small businesses and have stable lives.
Ambassador Nguyen Van Ngu informed about the political, economic and social situation of the host country and Vietnam, the good traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus.
In the Spring Festival, the Minsk City community art troupe, the Vietnamese language class art troupe, and international students and community students presented a series of unique performances imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity, such as conical hat dance, bamboo pole dance, Ao Dai performance, and family reunion scenes of Vietnamese language class students.
In Bangladesh, The Vietnamese Embassy organized the program "Spring Homeland" - Tet of the Vietnamese community with the participation of Bangladeshi friends who are members of the National Assembly, leaders of parties having relations with our Party; officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of ministries and branches.... In particular, there were the President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, Member of Parliament and General Secretary of the Bangladesh Workers' Party and Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the ruling People's League Party.
Celebrating Spring and Tet after more than 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese community is excited and proud to introduce to Bangladeshi and international friends the traditional Lunar New Year.

Ambassador Pham Viet Chien said that the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Bangladesh continues to be strengthened and developed, especially in trade and economy. Two-way trade turnover continues to increase, approaching 1.5 billion USD and for the first time Bangladesh's exports to Vietnam exceeded 100 million USD.
Mr. Fazle Hossain Badsha, Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Working Group on Indigenous Peoples of Bangladesh and General Secretary of the Bangladesh Workers' Party, was impressed and delighted to celebrate the traditional New Year and learn more about the unique culture and national traditions of the Vietnamese people.
He highly appreciated the good traditional friendship between the two countries and believed that bilateral cooperation would achieve new achievements in the coming time, especially in the year of the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations.
The atmosphere of Vietnamese Tet is even more intense with traditional Tet dishes such as banh chung, gio, nem, pho, which are carefully prepared by Embassy staff with the support of the community. Children - the second generation of Vietnamese people receive lucky money.
