At the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam (January 27, 1973 - January 27, 2013), Ms. Helen Luych - Honorary Senator of the French Republic gave a warm speech about the friendship between Vietnam and France with many memories and thoughts about Vietnam. She said. Many French friends - including Henri Matin, who could not attend the ceremony asked her to convey to the Vietnamese people that: They always think about Vietnam. French friends including members of the French Communist Party, great intellectuals, great cultural figures and the majority of French people who love freedom and justice have always stood by the Vietnamese people in the struggle for independence and freedom for the Vietnamese Fatherland in the past and in the cause of building and defending the country today.

(Baonghean) -At the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam (January 27, 1973 - January 27, 2013), Ms.

The French friends remember the heroic and glorious years with countless sacrifices in the fight for independence and freedom of Vietnam and also for the independence and freedom of oppressed peoples around the world. Remember the great contributions of Vietnam to peace, solidarity, cooperation and friendship between peoples; remember the "breathtaking" argument and intellectual battle at the negotiating table in Paris in which the French friends did everything they could to help the two Vietnamese negotiating delegations gradually gain victory. Remember the days at the end of December 1972 when their hearts were aching with worry for Vietnam, when the US used B52s to bomb and destroy Hanoi and also from their hearts bursting with joy when they learned that Vietnam had won with a Dien Bien Phu in the air.

What have French friends as well as all international friends in the unprecedentedly large international solidarity front thought about Vietnam? Surely international friends think a lot of things and think deeply about some things about Vietnam. Through the speeches of Ms. Helen Luch and international friends during and after this celebration, we see that their thoughts about Vietnam focus on the following points:

They thought about President Ho Chi Minh, about all that he had done for the Vietnamese people, for peace and friendship among peoples.

They think about the will of our people: "Rather sacrifice everything than lose our country, never become slaves", "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one, rivers can dry up, mountains can wear away, but that truth will never change" (Ho Chi Minh).

They think about Vietnam's revolutionary heroism, about Vietnam's bravery and intelligence. And above all, international friends think about the bright future of the Vietnamese people: A nation that has gloriously defeated the most powerful colonial and imperialist forces in the 20th century, that nation will certainly rebuild the country to be more dignified and beautiful in the first decades of the 21st century. And international friends think that they have stood side by side with the Vietnamese people in combat, and will continue to stand side by side with Vietnam in peace and construction.

Generations of Vietnamese people always remember and think about the deep affection and valuable help that international friends have given to Vietnam. And to be worthy of what international friends remember and think about Vietnam, our entire nation under the leadership of the Party will make new achievements as they remember, think, and believe about the heroic Vietnamese nation.
