Government Steering Committee 138 works in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, December 21, the Inspection Delegation of the Government Steering Committee 138 on the situation and results of 2 years of implementing Directive 48-CT/TW (dated October 22, 2010) of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in crime prevention and control in the new situation" worked in Nghe An.

The delegation included leaders of the Departments and Divisions under the Supreme People's Procuracy, Ministry of Public Security; led by Comrade Hoang Nghia Mai - Permanent Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy. Working with the delegation, from Nghe An province, there was Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, members of the Steering Committee 138 of Nghe An province.

Overview of the working session

Over the past 2 years, the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee have thoroughly grasped and implemented Directive No. 48-CT/TW of the Politburo. Many documents have been issued to direct sectors and localities to promptly implement, initially promoting effectiveness in practice, contributing to creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of Party committees at all levels, authorities, sectors and people in crime prevention.

Over the past two years, the province has done a good job of state management of social order. Coordinated to detect and arrest hundreds of law violators, administratively handling 761 violations. Strengthened armed patrols, protected the safety of key targets. Focused on the management and education of subjects in the community, drug addiction treatment. In the past two years, 1,721/2,140 criminal cases were investigated and clarified. 1,557 cases, 2,107 drug offenders were handled. The Public Security - Procuracy - Court coordinated well in arresting, detaining, investigating and handling crimes, managing prisoners, ensuring proper implementation of legal policies. No wrongful convictions occurred, minimizing the number of criminals who escaped. In addition, the province also directed relevant departments, branches, and district-level People's Committees to conduct surveys to identify communes, wards, and towns with complicated security and order situations to focus on transforming them into crime-free areas or reducing crime to the lowest level.

Reporting to the Delegation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong said that in the coming time, the Provincial Steering Committee 138 will continue to promote propaganda work to all classes of people on crime prevention. Focus on fighting fiercely against all types of crimes and social evils. Timely detect and fight to eradicate criminal rings, areas, and complex gathering places of crime, drugs and social evils.

On behalf of the working delegation, Comrade Hoang Nghia Mai - Permanent Deputy Director of the Supreme People's Procuracy acknowledged Nghe An's efforts in strengthening crime prevention. He also pointed out 6 issues that the Province needs to focus on in the coming time: Proposing the Provincial Party Committee to direct a preliminary review of 2 years of implementing Directive 48 of the Politburo; continue to promote coordination between authorities at all levels, in which the role of villages and hamlets is very important; Pay special attention to the work of preventing and stopping all types of crimes, considering this a pivotal and key task; Continue to synchronously and effectively deploy the work of fighting and suppressing crimes with a timely, resolute and thorough attitude; Continue to do well the task of judicial reform. He also stated that the work of fighting crime must be a long-term and regular task, so it requires more thorough participation of the Party system and local authorities at all levels.
