Steering Committee of the New Rural Development Program deploys tasks for 2013
(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of December 24, the Standing Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in Nghe An province held a meeting to discuss some contents on the results of the program implementation in 2012 and the direction and tasks in 2013. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy of the Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in the province chaired the meeting.

Up to now, 378/435 communes have completed the approval of the commune-level new rural project, reaching 87%. After 2 years of implementing the new rural construction program, 10 communes have met 14-18 criteria, 71 communes have met 9-13 criteria, 240 communes have met 5-8 criteria, 114 communes have met less than 5 criteria, accounting for 26.2%. The total capital mobilized, combined with programs and projects for the new rural construction program is 3,715 billion VND, of which state capital is more than 1,600 billion, accounting for 43.3%. From the above capital, the new rural construction program has built and repaired over 7,000 km of rural roads, built and upgraded 11,158 km of canals, built 80 standard schools, built 205 new cultural houses, 196 markets... The new rural construction program has contributed to changing production towards key commodities... After 2 years of implementing the program, the face of the countryside has increasingly improved.
In 2013, the whole province strives to have 12 communes achieving 16 or more criteria, 25 communes achieving 14-15 criteria, and 63 communes achieving 11-13 criteria.At the conference, comrade Dinh Viet Hong requested the members of the Steering Committee to continue to strengthen the direction and management, promote propaganda and training, continue to review, adjust, supplement, perfect and issue policies and guiding documents for synchronous implementation. Localities need to do a good job of integrating programs and projects in the area.
In 2013, the target program for new rural construction will focus on building canals and intra-field traffic to serve production. Focus on developing production, transforming crop structure, applying scientific and technical advances to production and livestock breeding to increase crop and livestock productivity. In 2013, the Steering Committee for new rural construction will prioritize funding for communes that have registered to finish early.
