The Central Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction worked in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the working program, this morning, July 5, the working delegation of the Central Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, led by Program Advisor Le Huy Ngo, had a working session with Nghe An province. Working with the delegation, on the province's side, there was comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee on New Rural Construction and members of the Steering Committee.

According to the report of the Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Development in Nghe An province, by June 30, 422/435 communes in the province had completed the approval of the general planning for new rural areas, reaching 97%. Currently, 13 communes are waiting for approval or have stopped planning. The number of communes that have completed the project on new rural areas has reached nearly 60%. Since 2011, the agricultural sector has supported investment in implementing 133 models of production and economic development, focusing on the fields of livestock, crop cultivation and forestry.

Although there are still difficulties in resources, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document on the policy of lending people cement to build rural roads in the first phase, to be paid in 2013 - 2014, with a volume of over 123,200 tons, equivalent to 205 billion VND to provide to 38 communes to build roads. Up to now, the provincial, district and commune budgets for investment in new rural construction are nearly 518 billion VND; the capital contributed by people (excluding land donation) is 119 billion VND; the credit and combined capital is 791 billion VND.

Speaking at the working session with the Provincial Steering Committee, Comrade Le Huy Ngo praised the province's efforts in building new rural areas, from planning progress to the operation of the steering committees at all levels. Nghe An has also been proactive, finding ways to do things suitable to the specific conditions of each locality. He emphasized that in order to build new rural areas with good results, it is necessary to focus on 3 issues: economic development, employment and increasing income for people. It is noted that localities should choose practical issues to do, suitable to the living requirements of the people. But it is also necessary to preserve the unique cultural identity of each region and locality./.
