Overview of the working session

As a border district, last year, Que Phong closely followed and directed the local authorities to grasp the situation, strictly maintain combat readiness regimes, thanks to which the security and foreign security situation in the area was stable, the socio-economic situation had quite good development. In 2014, of the 30 socio-economic targets set, 28 targets were met and exceeded, the average income per capita reached 18.7 million VND/year; focusing on applying science and technology to production. Currently, Que Phong district still has no Protestants.

However, it is still a poor district, so Que Phong hopes that the Northwest Steering Committee will advise the Government to pay attention to allocating more resources according to Resolution 30a for the district, and also needs to soon deploy the construction of border patrol roads in the district to create favorable conditions for coordination with forces to patrol and protect the border and sovereignty along the Vietnam - Laos border. Research to help the province and district fundamentally solve the problem of illegal migration, the problem of illegal drug trafficking across the border associated with bandit activities, consider the proposal to turn non-professional cadres in charge of party building into commune-level civil servants...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Van Lan - Deputy Head of the Northwest Steering Committee acknowledged and commended the results achieved by Que Phong district. However, he noted that Que Phong district needs to attract investment resources to develop the socio-economy to improve people's living standards; improve the investment environment for tourism services, and promote seedling products. The district needs to change the way of investing in support for the poor to effectively develop capital sources. Regarding the situation of illegal drug trafficking and human trafficking, which is still very complicated, Que Phong district needs to pay attention to solving it and continue to strengthen the comprehensive cooperation relationship between the two countries Vietnam - Laos./.
