Lacking money, Ms. H. was advised by Trang to sell her 18-year-old daughter to marry a Chinese "rich man" for 60,000 yuan (about 210 million VND).

The Criminal Police Department (PC02) of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police said that the unit has just coordinated with C02 (Ministry of Public Security) and Chinese authorities to successfully rescue an 18-year-old girl who was sold to China to be a wife.

Regarding the above case, PC02 also prosecuted the case, temporarily detained Nguyen Thi H. (mother of the 18-year-old girl), Nguyen Thi My Trang (53 years old, residing in Long Dien district) to investigate the act of "Human trafficking".

In addition, Vietnamese authorities are coordinating with Chinese provincial authorities to investigate Nguyen Thi Hang (43 years old, residing in China).

Accordingly, on May 11, PC02 received a report from Ms. H. about her daughter V. (18 years old) being detained and tortured while being the wife of a Chinese man.

Through investigation, the police determined that in early 2019, knowing that Ms. H. needed money, Trang advised her to sell her daughter to marry a Chinese man.

Trang then contacted Hang for help.

In March 2019, Hang transferred 20 million VND to Trang to buy plane tickets and procedures to take Ms. H. and V. to China.

Trang and her son-in-law took Mrs. H. and V. from Ba Ria - Vung Tau to Tan Son Nhat airport, Ho Chi Minh City to fly to Van Don airport, Quang Ninh province and take a bus to Mong Cai border gate.

Here, this group met a woman named Huyen (introduced by Hang) to do the procedures to go to China.

Then, Huyen took H. and V. to meet a man who claimed to be Hang's husband. This man and Hang took V. to meet a Chinese man and said that this man would be V.'s husband.

After this transaction, the man gave Hang 60,000 yuan (more than 200 million VND) in expenses. Hang took 10,000 and gave Ms. H. 40,000 yuan.

After living with this Chinese husband for a few days, V. was beaten by him so she called her mother for help.

Upon receiving the news, PC02 coordinated with C02 and Vietnamese and Chinese authorities to rescue V..

On May 14, V. was brought back to Vietnam safely.
