(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 14, the Provincial Ethnic Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to summarize the emulation and reward movement for the period 2010-2015 and deploy directions and tasks for the period 2016-2020.

In recent times, the emulation and reward work has been seriously implemented by the Ethnic Committee from registration, signing emulation agreements, launching emulation movements. Accordingly, the Party and State's ethnic programs and policies have been synchronously implemented by the Committee, contributing to many positive changes in the socio-economic situation of ethnic mountainous areas, helping people stabilize their lives, significantly changing the face of ethnic mountainous areas. The districts implementing Resolution 30a of the Government have an average poverty reduction rate of 6.5%/year. Health care and cultural preservation have been constantly paid attention to, political security and social order and safety have been constantly maintained.

In the period of 2016-2020, the Ethnic Committee continues to set the goal of promoting patriotic emulation movements and effectively implementing ethnic policies. Every year, strive to have over 90% of civil servants achieve the title of Advanced Laborer; 20-30% of civil servants achieve the title of Emulation Fighter at all levels; 10-15% of civil servants receive Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Minister. 100% of collectives achieve the title of Advanced Labor Collective; 50% of collectives achieve the title of Excellent Labor Collective. By 2016, the Ethnic Committee was awarded the Third Class Independence Medal by the State; in the period of 2016-2020, it was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Minister - Chairman of the Ethnic Committee.

At the conference, the Ethnic Committee commended and awarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2010-2015 period, and selected and sent 3 comrades to attend the provincial-level conference of typical advanced models.

Grassroots culture and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" are promoted. The mass sports movement has developed extensively, receiving active responses from all walks of life. High-performance sports have achieved many successes. From 2010 to 2014, Nghe An has won 1,555 medals of all kinds in international and regional arenas and at national championships. Tourism activities have achieved the targets set out in Resolution XVII of the Provincial Party Congress, in which the number of visitors increased by an average of 6.7% per year, and tourism revenue increased by an average of 24.1% per year.
