(Baonghean.vn) -On June 27, leaders of the Ethnic Committee visited and presented gifts to families of victims affected by flash floods in Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district.

Comrade Quang Van Dau - Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee visited Lo Thi Thuong, who is being treated at Tuong Duong District General Hospital.

LikeBaonghean.vnreported that, earlier, at around 5:15 a.m. on June 23, in the Nam Can stream area, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, Ms. Lo Thi Hue (40 years old) and her two children, Lo Thi Thuong (daughter, 13 years old) and Hoang Gia Phuc (son, 3 years old) were in a house that was also a small tea shop when a flash flood suddenly hit.



The road to Tuong Duong is still blocked in some places.
The flash flood that struck early in the morning swept away Ms. Hue and her child Phuc, who were missing. Only Lo Thi Thuong survived after being swept away by the water and was taken to her grandmother's house in Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district (15km away from where the mother and her two children had an accident). However, due to her injuries, Thuong was taken to Tuong Duong district General Hospital for treatment.



Leaders of the Provincial Ethnic Committee visited and gave gifts to Thuong.

It is known that Lo Thi Thuong's family is in particularly difficult circumstances.
,The family has 3 sisters, one is married, the other two are Lo Thi May and Lo Thi Thuong. The father died of illness in 2009, the mother (Lo Thi Hue) married the stepfather Hoang Van Doai and gave birth to Hoang Gia Phuc. The family's circumstances are difficult, the mother is often sick, recently, the stepfather and Lo Thi May went to work abroad. In early April, Hue sent Thuong to relatives in the village to go to school, and took Phuc to Nam Can to set up a shop selling soft drinks. During the summer vacation, Lo Thi Thuong went to help her mother sell goods for less than a month before a flash flood occurred.
