The maps of Vietnam have received the attention of many German and international friends visiting the International Tourism Fair Berlin (ITB) taking place in the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany from March 4-8.

In Vietnam's exhibition booth at ITB 2015, tourism booths displayed maps with printed images of the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, clearly stating that they belong to Vietnam's sovereignty.

In addition, there is also information stating legal evidence affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of the Fatherland, as well as condemning China's violation of international law and Article 5 of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) when this country is illegally building islands in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, breaking the status quo of the islands in the East Sea.

Many international tourists came to the exhibition booth and took a map of Vietnam. Many even opened the map and pondered for a long time. The tour guides enthusiastically introduced to the visitors information about the famous landscapes, traditional culture of Vietnam and the geographical areas under the sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction of Vietnam.

China's construction of artificial islands and renovation of some islands in Vietnam's Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos is attracting the attention of German public opinion.

Some German scholars, including Professor, Dr. Howard Loewen of the Hamburg Institute for Peace Research (IFSH), assessed that China's history shows that this country has always pursued the goal of expanding its territorial borders, a goal that is currently focused in the Southeast with the East Sea area as the focus.

According to Mr. Loewen, China's use of "island building" tactics to expand and consolidate its power base on the islands it occupies in the East Sea is a violation of international law by disrupting the status quo of the islands and is a dangerous development because it can undermine the security and stability of the region.
