Las Vegas killer's girlfriend leaves Philippines for US

Reuters news agency quoted Philippine police and immigration sources as saying that Marilou Danley left the country on the evening of October 3.

Speaking to reporters, Philippine immigration spokeswoman Maria Antoinette Mangrobang said Danley took a Philippine Airlines flight to Los Angeles.

“Her flight back to the United States was monitored by FBI officials,” another police official said.

Danley left Manila unescorted, but she will face the FBI as soon as she lands in the United States. The official said she is returning to erase any traces of any connection to the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.

Stephen Paddock, who killed himself minutes before police surrounded the hotel room he used to carry out the shooting spree on the evening of October 1, left no clear evidence of why he opened fire on an outdoor music party from a high-rise building.

Law enforcement agencies hope to get answers from Danley, who has been identified as the gunman's live-in girlfriend. Philippine police said Paddock used Danley's Australian passport to check into a hotel room in Las Vegas./.
