Discussing solutions to attract investment and upgrade Do Luong commercial center market
(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of May 5, the People's Committee of Do Luong district held a meeting to discuss solutions to attract investment to upgrade the district's Trade Center market. Nearly 1,000 small traders involved in trading activities at the center attended the meeting.
Do Luong Commercial Center Market currently has over 1,000 business kiosks, divided into 2 main areas with over 700 permanent business households, thousands of people coming in and out to trade regularly. After 20 years of construction and development, along with the investment of the State, the business households here have contributed nearly 6 billion VND (from 2004-2010) to build, create jobs for thousands of local workers and neighboring areas, contribute to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and contribute a significant source of budget revenue to the State.

At this meeting, the district leaders approved a number of issues regarding investment attraction and upgrading of Do Luong Trade Center Market. Based on the Government's decisions, especially Decision 127/2007/QD-UBND and Decision 5759/QD of the Provincial People's Committee, the policy of converting the market management model in accordance with legal regulations and current requirements, the opinions of the traders expressed their wishes and concerns because of the false rumors that the district intended to sell the market to an economic group. Many traders expressed their wishes that in the current difficult economic conditions, they hoped that the province and district could consider maintaining the status quo so that people could be proactive in upgrading and converting. In upgrading and rebuilding the Trade Center Market, people hoped that all information would be made public and transparent, in order to ensure the rights of traders, so that they could clearly understand the development orientation policy of the center and feel secure in continuing to engage in business and trading activities.
At the end of the discussion and dialogue, comrade Nguyen Tat Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Luong district denied the information about selling the market. The district is researching and implementing investment attraction to upgrade and renovate the market according to the province's development policy. However, during the upgrading process, investors must ensure the practical and legal rights of traders and the investment policy and upgrading of the TTTM market will be implemented when approved and agreed by the people.
