On the morning of September 29, the Lao Government delegation coordinated with the Military Region 4 Command and Nghe An province to organize the inauguration and handover ceremony of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at Kim Lien Relic Site, Nam Dan, donated by the Lao Government. Attending the ceremony, on the Lao side, there was Senior Lieutenant General Vilay Lakhamphong - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army. On the Vietnamese side, there were Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Vietnam People's Army, and Comrade Nguyen Ba Hung - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Laos. On the side of the leaders of Military Region 4, there was Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of Military Region 4. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. |
The Memorial House project was officially started on July 22, 2016, with a scale of 2 floors in the ancient stilt house architecture style imbued with the cultural identity of Lao ethnic groups with a floor area of 315 m2.2Completed after more than 1 year of urgent construction. This is a special project with extremely important political, cultural, social and diplomatic significance.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Phu-vong Vong-phom - Deputy Minister of National Defense of Laos, representing the delegation, affirmed that the Memorial House represents the heart, friendship, and love of the Lao Party, State, Army and people of all ethnic groups towards President Ho Chi Minh, as well as the country of Vietnam.
“The Lao government has assigned the Lao Ministry of National Defense to build a traditional house as a gift for the Kim Lien relic site to be used as a place to display artifacts associated with President Ho Chi Minh, associated with the special friendship and solidarity between the two nations, a place to gather the solidarity of the people of Laos and Vietnam that nothing can separate, and also a meeting place for friends and comrades and a place for Lao and Vietnamese youth of future generations to visit and study,” Lieutenant General Phu-vong Vong-phom emphasized.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don - Deputy Minister of National Defense commented: "The Vietnam-Laos relationship has been forged and nurtured by the efforts and blood of countless heroic martyrs, by the sacrifices and struggles of many generations of Vietnamese and Lao people, and has truly become a traditional, very special, very loyal, and very pure relationship."
The Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam assigned the Military Region 4 Command to coordinate with Nghe An province and Kim Lien relic site to complete the exhibition as soon as possible, put it into exploitation and effective use, serving officers, soldiers, local people and tourists to visit and study.

Representing Nghe An province to receive the handover of the project, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed the important position of the Memorial House project in the Kim Lien relic site - a special national relic site of Vietnam.

“Nghe An province would like to accept and commit to directing the Department of Culture and Sports, Kim Lien Relic Site and related units to manage, protect and promote the use of the project to achieve the highest efficiency, contributing to spreading the special sentiment between the Party, State, Army and people of Lao ethnic groups with President Ho Chi Minh,” said comrade Nguyen Xuan Son.

On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao PDR awarded the Third Class Medal of Heroism to the Economic Cooperation Corporation/Military Region 4 - the unit that contributed efforts and intelligence to complete the project on schedule.
