Concerns about services at Huong Tich Pagoda
(Baonghean.vn) -Located in Thien Loc commune (Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province), Huong Tich pagoda is a famous spiritual and cultural destination known to many people. Ha Tinh people consider Huong Tich pagoda "the ancestral altar of the sacred land where talented people enlighten the home".
Not only Ha Tinh people but also Nghe An people for many years now consider Huong Tich Pagoda a sacred place of worship, a place often visited during the first holidays of the year. This year, the festival will not open until the 6th of the first lunar month, but from the first day of Tet, hundreds of visitors come to the pagoda every day, from the 5th onwards, Huong Pagoda welcomes thousands of people every day to offer offerings and enjoy the view.
Passengers crowded at the pier
Queue for the cable car
Fainted from jostling
In particular, when the cable car system was put into operation, the number of visitors increased dramatically. This project was built in 2009 with a total cost of 150 billion VND, starting from the left of Mieu Co Temple to Huong Tich Pagoda, with a length of nearly 1,000m, the travel time from Mieu Co Temple to Huong Tich Pagoda was shortened to only 3.59 minutes compared to nearly 2 hours of walking before, many people chose to take the cable car instead of walking even though the price for each trip was up to 100,000 VND. However, because the project was not completed, the waiting area was still unfinished, and the security and guidance work was not professional, when the number of visitors was overloaded, there was jostling, arguing, and fighting, some people were dizzy and fainted.
Along with the cable car, some other services are also often overloaded. At the boat station, although there is a traffic police force on duty and providing guidance, the crowding and fighting cannot be controlled. Normally, each boat can only carry about 20-25 people, but almost every boat carries twice the number of passengers as prescribed. The main passengers on the boat are the elderly, women and children, so if a water accident occurs, the consequences will be unpredictable.
There is also a “spontaneous” motorbike taxi service operated by locals, but no one manages it. Only locals can use this road because it is a residential road, unfinished, rough, and muddy, so only locals with good driving skills and familiar with the terrain can drive a motorbike. This is also the most “expensive” service at Huong Tich Pagoda, with a trip costing 150,000 VND.
To avoid jostling, waiting, and spending a lot of money on services, many healthy people choose to hike to feel the land, the scenery of the place known as "Hoan Chau's number one scenic spot", and then after a long walk up to Huong Pagoda, they will see the sacredness of the land, the intersection of mountains and clouds, and also hear the sound of the waves from afar, restlessly reverberating...
